OLEOTEK had acquired solid extertise in synthesis of biomaterials since 2008 with SOPREMA. With this new project, OLEOTEK which has just obtained authorization from MEES for its enhanced mission in the field of oleochemistry, green chemistry, biosourced products and scaling processes will have as its main objective the synthesis of innovative partially biosourced membranes. This project linked to industrial needs will use renewable resources (vegetable oils and derivatives) as raw materials for the development of these new biomembranes. Both with the facilities and the complementary expertise of OLEOTEK and SOPREMA, the development of each biomembrane will include a phase of optimization of synthesis, polymer characterization, scaling process, technology transfer and implementation for production at SOPREMA for their commercialization. OLEOTEK will strengthen its strategic position as a research center in green technologies for the construction industry in Quebec.
