The second edition of FIBEQ organized by CRIBIQ (Consortium for Research and Innovation in Industrial Bioprocesses in Quebec), IDE trois-Rivières (Innovation and Economic Development of Trois-Rivières), Innofibre and UQTR (University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières) will take place from June 20 to 22, 2022 in Trois-Rivières.
For this second edition, more than 250 researchers, specialists, industrialists and economic organizations are expected at the Trois-Rivières Interactive Events and Congress Center to discuss the various challenges related to the biosourced economy in the industrial bioproduct sectors, food, agriculture, forestry and the environment.
The first edition of FIBEQ in 2019 was a great success. More than 350 participants gathered in Trois-Rivières to discuss issues related to the biosourced conomy in Quebec and also at the global level. Several topics were discussed and many relationships were established through this event.
The 2022 edition will highlight several current issues, such as: Artificial Intelligence applied to sustainable innovation, the agri-food sector in a post-pandemic era, bioresources used in a context of circular economy and greenhouse gas reduction, the development of new biobased products as a substitute for fossil-based products, entrepreneurship and the biosourced economy and other topical issues that will be added in the coming weeks. , with the aim of supporting the deployment of a national Strategy for Innovation in the Biosourced Economy.
The implementation of this Strategy is a solution to several issues, some of which are identified in the Québec Strategy for Research and Innovation (2022-2027). While being economically viable, the biobased economy has many advantages in terms of economic sovereignty, wealth creation, environmental footprint and regional revitalization.
