Innovative strategies in animal production to ensure safety and health in a context of reducing the use of antibiotics

As part of this project, the companies Corporation Larvatria, FPOQ, Porcima and Advanced solutions (Adsol) collaborate with the University of Montreal to equip pork and poultry industries to meet the challenge of nutrition and health animal feed as well as food safety through the development of flourinsect proteins and oils as food or dietary supplements thatwould be incorporated into the feed. Protein meals and insect oilsantimicrobials are particularly aimed at livestock markets. These antimicrobial protein meals of house fly larvae are neithermanufactured, neither marketed nor distributed in Canada, thus the market ofthe pork and poultry industry therefore offers very significant market potential.
