Victoriaville and its region aspire to become the foremost reference in the circular economy in Quebec and to drive innovative sustainable development initiatives. To achieve this, it is currently implementing a regional project that will offer expertise, resources, and infrastructure to businesses that wish to be part of the movement: City of Circular and Sustainable Innovation (Cité de l'innovation circulaire et durable).
On October 17-18, 2023 in Victoriaville, the industrial community participated in the first edition of the event "Circularity, a Competitive Advantage for Industrial Businesses", organized by the CRIBIQ and the City of Circular and Sustainable Innovation (Cité de l'innovation circulaire et durable), in collaboration with Cascades and Victoriaville, the host city of the event, which offered a program tailored to the realities and challenges of small, medium, and large enterprises in the fields of innovation and circular economy. The first day showcased several national and international speakers who shared their accomplishments, vision and reflections on the economic advantages and potential of circularity. The second day provided an immersion into the world of Cascades, a company whose circular economy practices have proven successful for nearly 60 years.
