Funding programs

The goal of the CRIBIQ research program is to co-finance innovative collaborative research projects involving enterprises and public research institutes that share a common interest in the development of biobased products. Funding of such projects by CRIBIQ is provided in the form of non-reimbursable financial contributions granted by Quebec’s Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy (MEIE).

COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH

117th call for projects – SPO-International

In order to remain among the advanced societies and to open up to the world, Quebec must ensure that its research institutes and organizations participate in the collaborative industrial research projects that will generate the technologies of tomorrow. In addition, in its Vision internationale du Québec, the government is demonstrating its determination to boost innovation on international markets.

It is in this context that the CRIBIQ, in collaboration with the Carnot MICA Institute, is launching its 117th call for projects to support the implementation of international collaborative research and innovation projects between universities, colleges, institutions and industry in Quebec and France. This call is part of the Support Program for Research and Innovation Organizations – Support for International Collaborative Research Projects (SPO-International) set up by Quebec's Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy (MEIE).

The Carnot MICA Institute is a research institute based in France, whose mission is to support scientific resourcing projects by MICA member structures (9 research laboratories, 8 technological resource centres, 1 industrial technical centre) with high potential impact, particularly socio-economic, as part of a targeted annual call for projects open to the Carnot and foreign research networks.

The Quebec biofood sector has the potential to become a world leader in innovation, research and development. The CRIBIQ is therefore determined to support this propulsion by funding collaborative research projects in the biofood sector.

This call for projects is part of the Support Program for Research and Innovation Organizations (SPO) set up by the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy of Quebec (MEIE).

The SPO-Biofood program is an interesting opportunity for both research centres and companies that wish to innovate and propel their ideas towards commercialization and wealth creation.

116th call for projects – CRIBIQ-Maturation

Innovation is a key driver of economic growth in Quebec. To position itself and stand out among advanced societies, Quebec must create a climate that favours innovation, both in research and in entrepreneurship. Maturation of technological innovations is one of the key stages in a company's development. That is why the CRIBIQ is lauching the new CRIBIQ-Maturation program to support innovative companies in their efforts to mature their innovation projects and bring them to market.

As part of this call for projects, the CRIBIQ is pleased to be joining forces with Axelys to provide additional financial support for the maturation of intellectual property (IP) and the development of technologies resulting from public research.

The aim of this collaboration is to provide companies with direct financial support in the form of a loan from CRIBIQ and non-refundable technology maturation funding from Axelys. The CRIBIQ funds can be used as an industrial counterpart under AxelysPour des innovations d'avenir program.

The INNOV-R | SME measure, deployed by the Regroupements sectoriels de recherche industrielle (RSRI), aims to encourage knowledge transfer and the appropriation of innovation by businesses in the various flagship sectors of the Quebec economy.

As part of its 2023-2024 research program, the CRIBIQ will be offering its support to the SMEs that belong to the following industrial sectors in the bioeconomy:
