Forum Innovation on the Bioeconomy in the Lower St. Lawrence Region

On October 19 and 20, 2022, the Forum Innovation sur la Bioéconomie au Bas-Saint-Laurent will be held in Rivière-du-Loup. This is the first regional forum resulting from the FIBEQ initiative (Forum Innovation sur la Bioéconomie au Québec). This forum is organized by the CRIBIQ and the four ACCORD niches of the Lower St. Lawrence region: Acéricole, Écoconstruction, Ressources, Sciences et Technologies marines and Tourbe et substrats.

The Lower St. Lawrence region is characterized by a set of natural and residual resources that represent an invaluable asset for the economic and social development of the region. The main objective of the forum is to highlight the hidden potential of bioresources in the Lower St. Lawrence region while allowing the industrial and research sectors to connect with stakeholders working on the region's economic and social development.

During this event, the participants will have the opportunity to discover innovative projects, visionary companies, extraordinary research centers as well as economic actors committed to making their territory a fulfilling living environment. They will also have the chance to meet people who do not hesitate to create alliances and business partnerships to take advantage of the benefits offered by the biobased economy. During this first edition, the issues and opportunities of the Lower St. Lawrence region will be discussed, particularly with regard to the circular economy, the development of peat and substrates, the development of marine biotechnologies, the region's potential for food self-sufficiency, and the various avenues offered by eco-construction.
