Biogas: Waga Energy raises €10 million to expand in North America

On November 13, the Grenoble-based start-up Waga Energy announced a €10 million financing round to enable it to continue its expansion in North America. This company has developed a technology to inject methane from landfills into the gas network. In March 2019, Waga Energy opened a subsidiary in Philadelphia (United States) and another in October in Canada, in the cradle of Quebec hydroelectricity in Shawinigan. The investment fund of Air Liquide Aliad, the liquid waste treatment specialist Ovive and the Starquest Capital fund initially provided €4 million. The investment fund Noria and Tertium, a group of companies from the Marseille region, each contributed €2.5 million, and the founders of Waga Energy contributed €1 million.
