The CRIBIQ is dedicated to promoting and supporting innovative industrial projects within Québec's bio-based economy sectors.

The Director of Accounting and Project Monitoring is responsible for the administrative, accounting, and financial management of projects overseen by the CRIBIQ. They ensure the financial efficiency of projects and compliance with the requirements of funding partners while supervising the corporate accounting of the organization. They coordinate financial planning, budget preparation, financial reporting, and maintain dashboards. By supervising the project coordination team and the accounting assistant, they ensure that each project is effectively and compliantly administered while optimizing the CRIBIQ’s financial resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Lead Project Coordinator to ensure each project is effectively administered and meets the expectations of industrial partners and researchers.
  • Oversee the Accounting Assistant to ensure the accuracy of transactions and the financial management of projects.
  • Coordinate project-based accounting processes, tracking costs and expenses while ensuring adherence to established budgets.
  • Supervise project closures by preparing and submitting detailed financial reports to funding partners, ensuring all funding conditions are met.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Monitor and approve financial transactions, including payments, invoicing, and bank reconciliations, to maintain operational transparency and rigor.
  • Coordinate the annual budget preparation in collaboration with various departments, including financial projections and mid-year adjustments.
  • Monitor the organization’s overall budget, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to optimize financial resources.
  • Collaborate on the tracking and improvement of organizational performance indicators.
  • Coordinate external audits by preparing required documents and addressing auditors’ recommendations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support Audit and Finance Committee meetings, including preparing agendas and distributing relevant documents.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional diploma (DEP) in accounting with 20 years of experience, or college diploma (DEC) in accounting with 10 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in financial management, accounting, and project monitoring.
  • Demonstrated leadership with the ability to motivate and guide a team toward achieving common goals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and rigor.
  • Autonomy and initiative to proactively solve complex problems.
