Encore! Biomatériaux Inc. has developed a process for overcycling various types of agri-food waste into 100% compostable, customizable packaging. In this way, the company designs packaging parts that do away with single-use plastic parts, and whose decomposition time is adapted to their useful life. The parts are designed to be composted directly at home or in the municipal organic waste management system.
The project will enable us to better characterize the material and optimize critical properties such as barrier properties and compostability. One of the project's objectives is to launch pilot production for a customer. This will enable Encore! Biomaterials Inc. to launch full-scale production in 2025.
