Circulus Agtech, use of marine residues for liquid fertilization in agriculture in a controlled environment

Circulus Agtech within the framework of the present project, will act as an intermediary between the producers of marine residues and farmers, in order to offer an organic source fertilization solution (1) for the production of plants. The added value of our company is the unique expertise in the processing and technical analysis of nutrients from organic fertilizer sources in order to obtain the best yields. Our solution is an alternative to non-renewable synthetic fertilizers or from mines. This is in line with the fight against environmental issues linked to conventional agricultural practices and based on the circular economy concepts.

The valuation of organic fertilizing residues is carried out using a physical and biological filtration process, a fermentation bioreactor meshed with a biofilter inoculated by bacteria resulting from vermicomposting promoting microbial reactions which will improve the nutrient content of the solution while reducing the less desirable elements. The fertilizer produced is suitable for crops using liquid fertilization, such as hydroponics. The process requires scaling up to market it in commercial agricultural production and increase the volumes of marine residues processed.

(1): The term “organic” is used in the proper sense of organic chemistry, chemistry based on a large class of carbon-based molecules, and in contrast to so-called “synthetic” fertilization solutions which currently dominate the market fertilizers.
