Robotique Nexus is a young agritechnology company developing an autonomous vehicle capable of recognizing and mechanically removing weeds from market garden crops. The robot incorporates a vision system with high-resolution cameras and artificial intelligence image analysis, and articulated arms equipped with tweezers for weed extraction, all while the vehicle is in motion. This innovation makes it possible to automate back-breaking manual work carried out by foreign workers, while reducing the application of herbicides that are harmful to health and the environment.
The Nexus technology platform enables the development of multiple decision-support functionalities for vegetable growers. The research project involves predicting the yield of lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and celery crops. Using images collected during weeding, the aim is to estimate the expected harvest volume by determining the number of plants in the field and the size of each plant. With this data, the farm manager will be able to accurately estimate the expected volume and better manage his commercial commitments.
