From 25th September to 26th September, 2017
Quebec City
The 4th edition of the Student Symposium, entitled: "Green Processes for Tomorrow's Bioeconomy", will take place at the Université Laval's Alphonse-Desjardins Pavilion on September 25-26 in Quebec City.
The bioeconomy covers all economic activities linked to the production and processing of bioresources in the energy, materials, chemicals, environment, agri-food and other sectors. In Canada today, the market for bio-based products is estimated at $230+ billion. As a result, Quebec companies and research organizations are benefiting from renewable resources, innovations stemming from the bioeconomy and solid base of scientific and technical knowledge in this sector. They are now heavily involved in the design of advanced green production and sustainable processing systems. What's more, Quebec's universities and research centres are very active in training future scientific researchers and engineers, who will be key pillars of tomorrow's bioeconomy.
During this 4th edition of the CRIBIQ Student Symposium, the opportunities and challenges of developing green processes in Quebec will be discussed and real cases, as well as their successes and stakes, will be highlighted. The event will include presentations, posters and workshops under the sub-themes below:
An initiative of the CRIBIQ, this event gives graduate students the opportunity to unveil the results of their research on the proposed topics.
