INTEGRATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE BIOECONOMY SECTORS

The strength of Quebec's artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem is no coincidence. Indeed, thanks to its leadership and breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence, the province is favourably positioned at the heart of this great industrial revolution.

Given the importance of the bioeconomy to Quebec's prosperity, research and innovation involve a lot of major stakes for a wide range of scientific research disciplines and specialties. To this end, solid support for scientific and technological progress in fields associated with the artificial intelligence sector is essential if Quebec is to overcome the challenge of developing a sustainable and competitive economy.

This call for projects is part of Investissement Québec's Innovation Program and is aimed at Québec businesses (primarily SMBs) with collaborative AI research projects with other SMBs (or startups), but also with ≥ one public research institute (PRIQ), either a university, a college centre for technology transfert (CCTT) or other government research centres.

The goal is to carry out an innovation project with a purpose of developing, commercializing or adopting AI technologies in the industrial sectors of the bioeconomy.

The PARTENAR-IA | Enterprises program is intended to:

• Improve the competitiveness of businesses through the adoption of AI;
• Encourage collaborations between businesses (of all sizes, including startups), as well as with research and innovation institutions to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence technologies in the industrial community and, by extension, in the society;
• Support structuring projects aiming at the massive adoption of AI in one or more industrial sectors of the bioeconomy;
• Support the realization of projects leading to significant and immediate economic benefits;
• Ensure the development and consolidation of innovation efforts in the field of AI;
• Contribute to the positioning of Quebec as a leader in the development of AI.
